In Claiming an Education by Adrienne Rich, I found it very hard to grasp the ideas that she was throwing out. I got that she talked about feminism and the progression of women in society but other than that it was hard to understand. It seemed very scattered and bounced back and forth a lot. I would have found a recording or maybe some other medium more helpful in this case. In that scenario it would have been easier for me to connect and get more information out of it.

In How to Win at College, I found that all of the topics it covered were extremely relatable. I had felt the same way or am still feeling the same way. I found the tips about room decorating helpful and sort of comical when it came to the comparisons he was making. In the chapters about scheduling your free time and control your meal time I found everything that was brought up to be especially true. Meals really do suck large amounts of time out of your day. I find this to be a common trend in my life. Scheduling your free time was interesting in the way that I had never thought about it in that way. I do have a tendency to lose control over social and study time. In the Stay in Touch chapter I found the first paragraph hysterical. The comparison between what college is like when you leave to having a mistress was very clever. I realized that it was awkward the first weekend I went home from school. It felt different at home and it didn't have the same appeal that home had before. One thing that was weird was driving. I had been so used to driving all the time but when I came up here I stopped. Overall I found this reading the most interesting we have done so far. I really enjoyed it.

In Students Navigating, I also thought this reading to be very interesting. I found all of the topics very relatable and it also opened my eyes to other perspectives. For example the part about parents leaving and it is an adjustment for them too. I know that it is an adjustment for them but I will probably never realize how big of an adjustment until I have my own children. I found that everything covered was very similar to my life in an almost creepy way. This reading was also one of the most interesting readings we have done. I really connected and enjoyed it.
